Clock Tower
Symbol of the Original Downtown of Ulsan Jung-gu
The Ulsan Jung-gu Clock Tower was established to celebrate the first anniversary of the Lions Club in 1966. The Clock Tower, sharing in the joys and sorrows of Ulsan citizens, was a tremendous favorite among citizens but was removed in 1977 due to the complaint that it interrupted the traffic flow as watches became popular. While the site kept the name ‘Clock Tower’ for 20 years after that, in 1998 the Clock Tower was newly established to restore its symbolic meaning of the past as a place for meeting or waiting for people. The Clock Tower was renovated to its present appearance through refurbishment in 2015. The classic and western style dome the uses copper plate was set and a GPS clock was put on the slope of the dome.

TipThe model steam locomotive placed on the large, 25m diameter circular structure was made to symbolize the history of the place where the railroad station was located in the past. It runs around the dome with a pleasant sound every hour on the hour.
