Temple continuing the legacy of Taehwasa Temple

Gwaneumsa Temple, the former Taehwasa Temple, is the great temple of Silla and is one of the temples enshrining the Buddhist ashes of about 100 people, which the great monk Jajang brought from Tang. Arriving with Buddha’s ashes along the waterway in the past, the great monk Jajang prayed for the eternity of generous virtue of the Buddha in Silla for the safety and peace of the public in Taehwasa Temple. While the temple site is now ruined, Gwaneumsa Temple in Budogol, where the Twelve Zodiac Animal Deities Stupa of Taehwasa Temple was found, continues the history of Taehwasa Temple. Presenting a pure and refined elegance even though it is in the downtown area, Gwaneumsa Temple has a number of visitors flowing in and out who desire the Buddha’s love in the wish of the great monk Jajang.
