Eoryeondang
Hanok stay feeling the elegance of Hanok and the wisdom of ancestors
Eoryeondang means a house where beautiful words spread around in accordance with the origin of the word ‘Eoryeoncheon river’, the previous name of the Dongcheon River. Eoryeondang contains the elegance and magnificence of traditional Korean houses in Dong-dong where the Dongcheongang River runs. The main facilities of Eoryeondang include Eoryeonjae, meaning the center of Eoryeondang, and Eoryeonheon in the upper floor style. The remaining six rooms are named by adding Chinese characters having good meaning to the first syllable of six local divisions ‘Yi, Ho, Ye, Byeong, Hyeong, Gong’, the state council organization during the Joseon period when Gyeongsang Jwado Fortress of Ulsan was a strategically important place. Each room has a unique theme. A stay at Eoryeondang will be a good opportunity to appreciate the beautiful elegance of the traditional Korean house and the wisdom of ancestors.
