Sanjeonsaem Spring
Spring made by rising natural water.
Sanjeonsaem Spring was created as water naturally gushed out about 400 years ago. It tastes good enough to be used as the drinking water for residents inside and out of the fortress as well as soldiers in the fortress. It was famous as a washing place among women because it was cold in summer and hot enough to melt frozen laundry in winter. It is also said that the spring never dried up even during droughts and never flooded during the rainy season. After a pumping station for the military base was built around the spring in 1967, the spring dried up and was forgotten. While it faced the risk of being buried in 1985, it was restored in 2002.

TipWater from this spring tastes good and is cold and clear. The flow of people with water jars on their heads bringing water to their home was endless. The US army used water from this spring after the liberation. Water from this spring tastes good enough for people to transport it even to Busan and Daegu.
